
Adam Collins is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance at Eastern Michigan University. He served as Director of Bands at Ypsilanti Community High School (Ypsilanti, Michigan), and Berkley High School (Berkley, Michigan). Adam has performed in several local, national, and international ensembles, including the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, the Life Sciences Orchestra at the University of Michigan, the Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma National Intercollegiate Band, and the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project.
Adam is a founding member of …And We Were Heard, an initiative that seeks to “connect underrepresented composers with wind band conductor-educators to foster equitable programming practices through collaborative recording and digital dissemination.”
Adam has recently begun working with composers and music educators to bring greater knowledge and awareness to the teachers and public educators that mold the lives and experiences of today’s children. He is an active advocate for the purposeful choice to create inclusive, diverse, and inviting musical programs as well as classroom environments for people of all genders and skin colors to feel welcomed, and thrive in a creative setting.
